All personal information that Genolution Inc. (hereinafter “the Company”) handles is based on the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc. and the Personal Information Protection Act or is collected, retained and processed with the information subject’s consent.

Also, the Company provides services in compliance with the EU GDPR standards, and regularly receives inspections of its personal information security activities by an outside agency through PIMS, a domestic personal information security certification program.

1. Personal Information Collection/Use Purpose, Personal Information Items Collected and Collection Method A.The Company collects the following personal information from users registering for the first time or using services. The personal information will not be used for any purposes other than those stated below, and if the purpose is changed, the Company shall ask for the information subject’s consent beforehand.

2. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties A.The Company shall process the information subject’s personal information within the scope specified in “1. Personal Information Collection/Use Purpose, Personal Information Items Collected and Collection Method” only, and shall not process the information outside the original scope or provide it to third parties without the information subject’s consent.

When it is acknowledged that it is clearly required for the benefit of life, body, and property of an information subject or a third party, but the information subject or the legal representative is not in a position to express their intention or it is not possible to receive consent beforehand due to unknown address, etc.

3. Personal Information Processing and Retention Period
A.The Company shall immediately destroy the personal information after the purpose of collection and use has been achieved, without exception. However, the following information shall be retained for the reasons and terms specified below.

4. Destroying Personal Information
A.The Company shall destroy personal information without delay in cases where it has become unnecessary, such as the retention period has expired, processing purpose has been achieved, etc.
B.The personal information destruction procedure and method shall be as follows:
1. Destruction Procedure
• In cases where the personal information has become unnecessary, such as the personal information purpose has been achieved, retention period has expired, relevant service has been discontinued, business has been terminated, etc. the personal information shall be destroyed without delay on the date that it is acknowledged as unnecessary.
2. Destruction Method • Personal information recorded and stored in electronic file form shall be destroyed so that the record cannot be retrieved, and personal information recorded and stored on paper documents shall be shredded with a paper shredder or incinerated.

5. User and Legal Representative’s Rights and Exercise Method A.The information subject can exercise the following rights related to personal information protection at any time:
1. Demand to view personal information
2. Demand to rectify any errors, etc.
3. Demand deletion
4. Demand to stop processing
B.The exercising of rights according to “A” must be done by phone or e-mail, and the Genolution homepage shall respond to it without delay.
C.If the information subject has demanded the rectification or deletion of a personal information error, etc., the Genolution homepage shall not use or provide the relevant personal information until it is rectified or deleted.
D.The exercising of rights according to “A” may be done through an agent, such as the information subject’s legal representative or an entrusted person, etc. In this case, a power of attorney for the personal information processing must be submitted.
E.When there is a demand to view, rectify, delete, or stop processing pursuant to the information subject’s rights, it shall be checked if the person who made the demand is the information subject himself/herself or his/her legitimate agent.

6. Matters Regarding the Installation, Operation, and Rejection of the Automatic Personal Information Collection Device
A.Personal information may be accumulated with the collection of “automatically generated information items (cookie, IP, etc.)” when users use the Company’s services. A cookie is a temporary file created automatically when a website is accessed, and it is stored on the user’s computer hard drive.
B.The Company uses cookies for the purpose stated below. The user has the option regarding cookie storage of allowing all cookies or rejecting cookie storage by selecting the option on the web browser.
1. Purpose of Cookies
• When using a service that requires logging in, a cookie provides convenience by making it unnecessary to type in the ID and password every time. Also, a cookie is used for customized marketing services, such as event participation identification, etc.

8. Big Data Utilization Method
A. Genolution does not utilize possible data, such as customized environment provision, big data, etc.

9. Personal Information Safety Security Measures
A. The following measures shall be taken to secure personal information safety:
1. Establish and implement internal management plan
• An internal management plan shall be established and implemented in accordance with the “Personal Information Technical & Administrative Security Measures Standard” and the “Personal Information Safety Security Measures Standard.”
2. Restrict access to personal information
• Necessary measures shall be taken to control access to personal information by granting, changing and canceling the authority to access the personal information processing system. A firewall shall be used to restrict unauthorized access from the outside.
3. Retain access records and tampering
• Personal information processing system access records shall be retained and managed for at least six months. Access records shall be properly managed to make sure they are not forged, falsified, stolen or lost.
4. Encrypt personal information
• Personal information shall be safely stored and managed through encryption, etc. Also, separate security functions shall be used for encrypting important data when storing and transmitting, etc.
5. Install security program and inspect and update it regularly
• To prevent personal information leaks and damage due to hacking, computer viruses, etc. security programs shall be installed and regularly inspected and updated.
6. Restrict access of unauthorized personnel
• The personal information processing system, which stores the personal information, shall be kept in a physically separate location, and an access control procedure shall be established and operated.
10. Changes in the Privacy Policy
A. This privacy policy shall be applied from MM.DD,YYYY.

Article 1 General Provisions
1.1 Genolution Inc. (hereinafter referred as “GENOLUTION”) establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy as follows to protect personal information in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and to promptly and smoothly deal with any issues relating therefrom. Furthermore, Genolution provides services in compliance with international standards, including the OECD Privacy Guidelines.

Article 2 Purpose of Processing Personal Information
2.1. GENOLUTION processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information processed will not be used for any purpose other than the following purposes, and in the event the purpose of use is changed, GENOLUTION intends to perform all necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with the relevant laws.

1) Subscription and Management of Members
Confirm intent to subscribe as member; identify and certify identity; maintain and manage membership qualifications; prevent unauthorized use of service; restrict subscription by children under 14 years; various notices and notifications; measures to restrict use by members who breached terms of use; sanction acts that may interrupt the smooth operation of services and acts of unauthorized use of services; restrict subscription and number of subscriptions; confirm intent to withdraw as member; customer services.

2) Provide Goods or Services
Provide services through web homepage; provide troubleshooting relating to purchase, payment, delivery of goods, assembly, exchange, return and other user related services such as member confirmation, troubleshooting.

3) Improve Services
Improve to make services through web homepage be provided in a method that is optimized for the user’s computer or other information and communications device; prepare statistics data relating to GENOLUTION’s works such as service development and improvement

4) Marketing Purpose
Only for those separately consented to the marketing purpose, (i) information related to services and other benefits provided by GENOLUTION, (ii) newsletter provided by GENOLUTION, (iii) notification of various events held by GENOLUTION, (iv) various marketing held by GENOLUTION to its customers.

Article 3 Period of Retention and Use of Personal Information
3.1. GENOLUTION processes and retains personal information in accordance with the laws or within the period consented by the subject of personal information at the time of collection of such personal information.

3.2. The period of retention and use of personal information is as follows:

1) Principle:
GENOLUTION in principle discards personal information of a member in 5 days upon his/her withdrawal as member or without delay upon achievement of the purpose of collection and use of such personal information

2) Long-term inactive member:
If a member that subscribed as member via the web homepage does not log-in for one (1) year or longer, he/she is converted into a ‘dormant member’. GENOLUTION stores and manages a dormant member’s personal information separately from personal information of other members, and GENOLUTION does not use such personal information except in case there is a special provision under the relevant laws. A dormant member may log-in to the web homepage in order to revive the membership. GENOLUTION reminds a member 30 days prior to the transition date.

3) If provided by laws:
Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraphs (i) and (ii), GENOLUTION retains and uses personal information of members as provided by laws, as follows (even if not specified below, if the period of retention and use is stipulated in other laws, then GENOLUTION complies with such laws)
• Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.: Records regarding cancellation of contracts or orders, Records regarding payments or provision of goods (5 years), Record regarding customer complaints or dispute resolutions (3 years)
• Protection of Communications Secrets Act: Log record data, communications confirmation data such as trace record of access location, etc. (3 months), Telecommunications confirmation data such as telecommunications date and time, commencement and end time of telecommunications, number of uses, etc. (12 months)
4) If consented by customers:
Until the end of the period consented by the customer

Article 4 Categories of Personal Information Processed
4.1. GENOLUTION collects and processes the following personal information:

1) Member Subscription Information
• Required: name, address, telephone number, mobile phone number, e-mail address, name and address of affiliated organization, responsible professor, information of legal representative (if minor under 14 years of age)

2) Provide Goods or Services
• Required: name, address, telephone number, mobile phone number, e-mail address, information concerning payment and delivery

3) Marketing and Promotion of Goods and Services
• Optional: name, mobile phone number, e-mail address, name and address of affiliated organization, responsible professor, automatically collected cookies

Article 5 Consignment of Processing of Personal Information
5.1. GENOLUTION consigns the processing of personal information as follows for smooth processing of personal information.

5.2. When entering into a consignment agreement, GENOLUTION manages, supervises and educates the consignee for the consignee to comply with the relevant laws, specifies matters related to the prohibition of processing personal information other than for the purpose of consigned work, technical and managerial protective measures, restriction of re-consignment, liability such as damages, etc. in the agreement or other written documents, and supervises whether the consignee safely processes personal information, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

5.3. If any detail of the consigned work or the consignee is changed, GENOLUTION will disclose such change without delay in this Privacy Policy.

Article 6 Destruction of Personal Information
6.1. GENOLUTION will destroy personal information without delay at the expiration of the retention period, the achievement of the purpose or other reasons for which such personal information is no longer necessary.

6.2. Notwithstanding the expiration of the retention period consented by the subject of personal information or the achievement of the purpose, in case where such personal information must be continued to be retained or used in accordance with other laws, such personal information will be transferred to a separate database or retained at a different place.

6.3. GENOLUTION’s procedure and method of destroying personal information is as follows.
1) Destruction Procedure
• GENOLUTION will select personal information which has a cause for discard and discard such personal information with approval of its personal information manager.
2) Destruction Method
• GENOLUTION will destroy personal information printed on paper by shredding or incineration. For any personal information stored in electronic file format, GENOLUTION will delete such personal information by using technical method that will not allow data recovery.

Article 7 Rights and Obligations of the Subject of Personal Information and Method to Exercise Such Rights
7.1. A subject of personal information may exercise the following rights related to the protection of personal information at any time against GENOLUTION and may exercise his/her rights as member through the member information change menu or member withdrawal procedure.
• Right to request access to personal information;
• Right to request correction of any error or change;
• Right to request deletion of information;
• Right to request discontinuance of personal information processing.
7.2. The rights under Clause 7.1. may be exercised by phone, e-mail or etc. to GENOLUTION and GENOLUTION will take necessary measures therefor without delay.

7.3. In case a subject of personal information requests to correct or delete any error, etc. in personal information, GENOLUTION will not process the relevant personal information until the completion of the requested correction or deletion.

7.4. A subject of personal information must not infringe upon personal information or privacy of himself/herself or any third party in violation of the relevant laws.

7.5. Regarding the personal information of minors under the age of 14 years, GENOLUTION complies with the laws concerning the rights and obligations of legal representatives.

7.6. A mandatary of a subject of personal information including a legal representative may exercise the rights above, but must hand in a power of attorney at “the Announcement of the Personal Information Act(No. 2020-7)“, Annex 11.

Article 8 Measures to Secure Stability of Personal Information
8.1. GENOLUTION takes the following managerial, technical, and physical measures to secure stability to prevent loss, theft, exposure, falsification or damage of the personal information in its processing of the members’ personal information.
1) Managerial measures
- Establishment and implementation of an internal privacy management plan, regular staff training, et cetera

2) Technical measures
- Encryption of unique identifying information, operation of access control system, installation and renewal of security program, et cetera

3) Physical measures
- Access control of data processing department

Article 9 Matters on Installation, Operation and Rejection of Tool for Automatic Collection of Personal Information
9.1. GENOLUTION uses cookies on homepages. Cookies are files that store the details of member’s usage at the time of access to homepages on computer and inform such details to GENOLUTION. GENOLUTION may through cookies identify members’ preferred contents on homepages, change its homepages based on members preferences and measure the level of use of homepages.

9.2. Once a member accesses the homepages, GENOLUTION uses cookies to analyze the frequency of access, time of visit, etc., understand the member’s traffic flow and collects information related to the events participation, frequency of access, etc. and then provides selective marketing services or customized services that each member may be interested in.

9.3. The usage of cookies differ by type:
1) Required cookies
These cookies are required to provide essential service functions, such as website navigation, security functions and login, and ID search. These cookies must absolutely be activated since users will not be able to access or navigate websites when they are deactivated and services cannot be provided or operated.

2) Functionality cookies:
These cookies help websites remember settings selected by users so that they can provide a customized environment to users and offer functions that help with the service. When disabled, some functions may not work properly.

3) Statistics cookies:
Also known as “performance cookies”, these cookies collect information about how users use a website, such as which pages they visited and which links they clicked, to help improve website functions.

9.4. Users may choose not to use cookies. Users may change their web browser settings to always allow the use of the cookies, ask every time when a cookie is saved, or refuse to save any cookies (including required cookies). However, in order to access GENOLUTION’s website and use the service, the use of the cookies must be allowed, and if a User refuses to use cookies, he/she may not be able to use the services that require a login. Article 10 Personal Information Manager
10.1. GENOLUTION has designated the following person as the Personal Information Manager to remain responsible for responding to user inquiries regarding personal information and resolving any related complaints; provided that to the extent GENOLUTION performs the obligations to protect personal information, GENOLUTION will not be responsible for any damages that are not attributable to GENOLUTION, such as negligence of any member or of himself/herself or accidents outside the scope of management by GENOLUTION.

Article 11 Change in the Privacy Policy
12.1. In case of any addition, deletion or revision of this Privacy Policy, GENOLUTION will notify thereof on the web homepage or by e-mail, etc. registered with GENOLUTION by members.
12.2. This Privacy Policy shall be effective from January, 09, 2023.
